Esquire Innovations Releases iDocID Version 5.0
Automated insertion of a document identifier now integrates with Microsoft Office 2007

March 15, 2008 – Esquire Innovations, Inc. has released iDocID Version 5.0, a powerful universal document management system-integrated ID stamper that integrates with Microsoft Office 2007. Esquire Innovations is a leading provider of Microsoft Office integration software to the legal market.
Functionality and flexibility:
A document ID (identifier) is a document’s filename (or filename and path) or document number as stored in a document management system (DMS). In order to quickly access a document, it's ID is typically displayed in the footer of the document.
Flexible enough to work with a legal firm’s document management system and different document types, iDocID provides functionality and flexibility. End-users have the option of changing the DocID at will for establishing personal settings.
Leveraging Microsoft’s new ribbon technology in Office 2007, iDocID v. 5.0 presents a custom ribbon for easy access.
Works with all major document management systems:
iDocID works with all the major document management systems, including Open Text, Interwoven, WORLDOX and NetDocuments. With centralized administration, iDocID does not overwrite existing footer information and offers:
- Flexible footer ID placement specified by document type
- Default document ID on all documents according to firm specifications in an XML file
- Automatic elimination of existing DocID codes upon File Open
“iDocID is an example of a product that was born directly from client requests,” says Randall Farrar, CEO and President of Esquire Innovations. “While working on other projects, our consultants repeatedly found that our clients were struggling with in-house Document ID macros or the Document IDs that come with their Document Management systems. Firms were looking for a more flexible alternative that could, for example, be easily set up to remove old legacy IDs and insert ID information at different places in the document dependent on the document type and firm specifications. After consulting closely with our clients, iDocID has matured to the current version; a flexible, affordable and low maintenance solution to a problem that has been very frustrating to many firms.”
