We chose iRedline as our document redlining/comparison tool in 2003 when we upgraded from Word 97 to Word 2003. We were looking for a solution that not only would be easy to use while providing accurate comparisons, but also a tool that would maintain the document's original formatting and allow the ability to accept or reject changes. We found iRedline was the tool that best fit our needs, and that most resembled Word's native tools.
An easy to use document comparison and redlining tool, iRedline is fully-integrated with Microsoft Word and Excel, and enhances the handling of tracked changes. It enables a user to compare documents stored on local or network drives, or that are accessed from document management systems including Interwoven, Hummingbird, and Worldox products. iRedline is easy to install, maintain and deploy.

Through iRedline administration, user options can be controlled and firm standards can be deployed.
Dependent upon the firm standards, the resulting iRedline document can be saved as a new document, prepared as an e-mail attachment or saved as an attachment (embedded object) in the revised document. The content and format of the result document can be specified through the iRedline scheme.
Firm specifications are administered in a central configuration XML file which is automatically synched to local machines.
